Digital Affiliate Membership
Terms & Conditions

  1. Overview

These Terms & Conditions govern your Digital Membership of Made in Scotland (“Digital Membership”), operated by The Made in Group Ltd. Digital Membership provides access only to:
(a) approved Made in Scotland branding assets for use in accordance with our brand guidelines; and
(b) an online microsite hosted by Made in Scotland.

All other membership benefits (for example physical events, in-person networking, or regional privileges) are not included unless expressly stated.

By completing the member confirmation form you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and by the Made in Scotland Code of Conduct set out below.

  1. Onboarding & Payment

After you sign the membership agreement we will send a payment link and an onboarding wizard to set up your Digital Membership.

Membership fees are payable in full on activation. Fees are payable to The Made in Group Ltd.

New members are guaranteed not to have membership fees increased in their first three (3) years of joining.

  1. Term, Renewal & Cancellation

Membership runs for 12 months from the activation date.

Membership is automatically renewed each year unless you give written notice of cancellation at least 30 days prior to your renewal date.

To cancel, email [email protected] or follow the cancellation steps in your onboarding materials. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current 12-month period; fees already paid are not automatically refundable (see Section 6).

  1. Digital Membership Benefits & Use of Branding

Licence. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Made in Scotland branding assets and your hosted microsite solely for the purposes permitted under your Digital Membership and strictly in accordance with our brand guidelines.

Restrictions. You must not:
(a) alter or misuse logos or branding assets;
(b) sublicense or transfer the licence; or
(c) use the branding or microsite in any way that is unlawful, defamatory, misleading or likely to harm the reputation of Made in Scotland.

Content. You are responsible for all content you provide for your microsite. Content must comply with the Code of Conduct and all applicable laws. We reserve the right to remove or require changes to any content that breaches these Terms, the Code of Conduct or our policies.

  1. Code of Conduct (applicable to Digital Members)

All Digital Members must comply with the Made in Scotland Code of Conduct. Key obligations include that you will:

Act professionally, with integrity and respect in all communications and when representing your membership.

Not claim authority to speak on behalf of Made in Scotland unless specifically authorised.

Avoid public or private statements (online or offline) that discriminate against or harm people on grounds including gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, race or mental health.

Respect confidentiality and privacy requirements, including those of other members, guests and Made in Scotland.

Refrain from anti-competitive or anti-trust behaviour.

Not harass, threaten or abuse members, staff or event participants.

Keep communications with Made in Scotland staff and office holders professional and measured.

Not issue malicious, defamatory, abusive or threatening messages about Made in Scotland or its members.

Comply with UK law and the Made in Scotland constitution and any conflict-of-interest policies issued from time to time.

Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct may result in actions up to and including suspension or termination of your membership (see Section 6).

  1. Suspension, Termination & Refunds

Breach. If you breach these Terms or the Code of Conduct, we may take any action we deem appropriate, including warning, suspension of membership benefits, exclusion from activities, removal from premises, or termination of membership.

Severe or persistent breach. For severe or persistent non-compliance we may terminate your membership immediately. In such cases, we will have no liability to refund any membership fees already paid (whether in full or pro-rata).

General cancellations & refunds. If you cancel in accordance with Section 3, cancellation takes effect at the end of your current membership year. Refunds for mid-term cancellations are not automatic and will be considered at our discretion.

  1. Data Protection & Privacy

By joining you consent to us processing your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy for the purposes of administering your membership. You are responsible for ensuring that any personal data you upload to your microsite complies with data protection law. For the full Privacy Policy or data queries, contact [email protected].

  1. Intellectual Property

All Made in Scotland branding, logos, trademarks and associated intellectual property remain the property of The Made in Group Ltd (or our licensors). Your licence to use them is governed by Section 4 and may be revoked for breach.

  1. Liability & Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Made in Scotland and The Made in Group Ltd exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability under or in connection with these Terms shall be limited to the amount of membership fees paid by you in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Made in Scotland and The Made in Group Ltd and their officers and staff against any claims, losses or liabilities arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, or your misuse of the branding or microsite.

  1. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes and, where required, obtain your consent. Continued use of membership benefits after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

  1. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under or in connection with them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
